How to Calculate Your Life Path Number

Step-by-step Life Path calculation with notes on master numbers and method differences.

A common Life Path calculation adds every digit in the month, day and year of birth, then reduces the sum until one digit remains. Many modern systems stop at 11, 22 or 33 rather than reducing those values again.

Example

For a fictional birth date of July 24, 1990: 0+7+2+4+1+9+9+0 = 32, then 3+2 = 5. Under this method, the Life Path would be 5.

Why calculators sometimes disagree

Some schools reduce month, day and year separately before combining them. Others differ on when a master number should be preserved. If two calculators disagree, inspect the calculation method rather than assuming one has revealed a hidden truth.
